The fall meeting of the Association is set for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, September 10, 11, & 12, 2017 at the beautiful 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel in Clayton, NY. Please make your hotel arrangements without delay, even if you must cancel later — the hotel cut-off date is: Friday, August 9th! Please call the hotel directly at: 315-686-1100 to make your reservations. Please be sure to indicate you are with the NYS Cheese Mfrs. Association block. Single/double room rates are: $179 – Village View; $199 River View.
The activities will start with a cocktail party Sunday evening (attire — business casual). The golf tournament will be on Monday at the 1000 Islands Country Club, Wellesley Island. Nathan Pistner and Howard VanBuren are Chairs and we will forward your golf registration information to them. We will collect your greens fees in advance saving congestion at the pro shop. The cost is $60.00 and includes a golf cart. (For the non-golfers, there are a number of nearby attractions that lend themselves to self-conducted tours. This year’s Monday Evening Cocktail Reception will be an Uncle Sam’s Boat Tour/Cocktail Cruise. Boarding will be at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel Docks at 4:45pm with departure at 5:00pm sharp.
The speakers program will once again include Ed Gallagher, Dairy Farmers of America who will present “Milk Marketing Outlook — An Update;” Samuel Alcaine, Dept. of Food Science, Cornell University will provide a “sensory” presentation; well-known local resident and fishing guide Jeff Garnsey will present “Sharing Paradise;” and to round out the program, David Bandler, Cornell University, will talk about “The cheeses of the Galapogos Islands – and Other Observations.”
